Date: 24 September 2017
Location: Italy
Organised by: HJM Italy (Hadawathe Janadhipathi Mahinda – Italy Chapter)

On 24 September 2017, HJM Italy (Hadawathe Janadhipathi Mahinda – Italy Chapter) organised a peaceful demonstration in Italy to express support for Sri Lankan military veterans and to raise awareness of issues affecting them.

The event brought together members of the Sri Lankan community living in Italy, who participated peacefully to express their views and show solidarity with those who had served in protecting Sri Lanka during the country's conflict.

HJM Italy coordinated the overall organisation of the programme, including participant mobilisation, publicity, event logistics, and on-site coordination, ensuring that the demonstration was conducted in an orderly and peaceful manner.

This initiative reflected the commitment of the Sri Lankan diaspora to engaging in civic activities, maintaining strong ties with their homeland, and participating in peaceful public advocacy on issues they considered important.
