Sinhala and Tamil New Year Visit to Mahinda Rajapaksa – 2018

On Sinhala and Tamil New Year’s Day in 2018, we travelled to Carlton House in Tangalle to meet Mahinda Rajapaksa and extend our New Year wishes.

I was joined by my wife, friends from our group and members of their families. The journey itself became part of the memory, with the group spending time together near the southern coast before visiting Carlton.

At Carlton, we had the opportunity to meet Mahinda Rajapaksa and exchange New Year greetings with him. It was a memorable occasion that combined the traditional spirit of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year with the friendship and companionship of the people who were part of our activities during that period.

Looking back, the Carlton visit of 14 April 2018 remains a special group memory—not only because of the meeting itself, but also because it was a day shared together with friends and family during the New Year celebrations.
