Opening of the Walpita Cooperative Store

Date: 21 June 2020
Location: Walpita

On 21 June 2020, I attended the opening of the cooperative store in Walpita. The opening provided a new local place where people in the village could purchase their everyday necessities.

This occasion became particularly memorable for me because, immediately after the store opened, I had the opportunity to become its first paying customer. The photographs capture the moment when I made that first purchase at the counter.

As someone from Walpita, being able to make the first purchase at the newly opened cooperative store gave this simple community occasion a special personal significance and made it a memorable part of my connection with my home village.
