Supporting Engineer Nalaka Kottegoda’s Election Campaign – Matale

During the 2018 local government election period, we travelled to Matale to support the election campaign of Engineer Nalaka Kottegoda and participated in grassroots campaign activities in the area.

The programme included visiting homes, meeting residents directly, distributing campaign material and helping communicate information about the candidate to the local community. It provided an opportunity to engage with people at the grassroots level and take part in door-to-door campaigning.

Several members of our team joined the programme, travelling through different areas of Matale and supporting the campaign activities throughout the day. The photographs also preserve scenes from the door-to-door campaign, local campaign decorations and a specially prepared campaign vehicle.

This occasion remains part of my record of political and community involvement during the 2018 election period, particularly as one of the field programmes in which we extended our support beyond the Homagama area.
