Project Overview

HalJobz.com was designed and developed by Isura Wickramarachchi in 2008 as a complete online recruitment portal. Developed in partnership with BountyLab UK, the platform connected employers with job seekers through a fully dynamic PHP/MySQL system.

The website was designed to simplify the recruitment process by allowing companies to advertise vacancies, search candidate profiles, and manage recruitment online, while job seekers could register, upload resumes, and apply for jobs directly through the portal.

Design & Structure

The website featured a professional corporate design using a clean combination of blue, white, and orange, creating a trustworthy appearance suitable for an employment portal.

The homepage was organised into multiple functional sections, including employer and employee login, advanced job search, featured vacancies, industry categories, employer listings, and career resources. The structured three-column layout enabled visitors to quickly access every major feature without unnecessary navigation.

A prominent search engine occupied the centre of the homepage, allowing users to search vacancies by industry, position, country, and keywords, while dedicated registration links encouraged both employers and job seekers to join the platform.

Unique Design Concept

Unlike a traditional company website, HalJobz.com was designed as a complete online recruitment management system.

The portal supported two different user groups—Employers and Job Seekers—each with dedicated registration, login, and management functions. Employers could publish vacancies, review applications, and manage recruitment activities, while job seekers could create profiles, upload resumes, and apply for jobs online.

The homepage also featured industry-based navigation, allowing visitors to browse employment opportunities by professional sector. This structure made the system highly scalable as new industries, employers, and job listings continued to grow.
