Meeting with Jeevan Kumaratunga – Discussion on Sri Lankan Cinema

On 26 January 2012, I had the opportunity to meet veteran actor, film producer, and former Cabinet Minister Jeevan Kumaratunga at his residence in Kirulapone. The meeting was arranged to discuss a cinema-related project by Aruna Paththinige and to exchange ideas on the development of the Sri Lankan film industry.

The discussion focused on various aspects of Sri Lankan cinema, including its current direction, future opportunities, and the growing role of digital media and information technology in promoting and preserving local films. Jeevan Kumaratunga's extensive experience and insights into the industry made the meeting both informative and inspiring.

At the time, I was actively involved in promoting Sri Lankan cinema through Films.lk, one of the country's leading entertainment websites. Meetings such as this provided valuable opportunities to engage with leading figures in the film industry, broaden my understanding of cinema, and build strong professional relationships with artists, producers, and filmmakers.
